You must be at least 21 years old and have held a full driving licence for at least three years to meet the DVSA’s fundamental requirements. While your application is being processed, you are invited to begin your driving teacher training with us. Driving teacher training courses are separated into three stages:
- The first section of the test is a theoretical test in which you must answer 100 driving-related questions. To pass, at least 85 accurate answers are required. Our staff will supply you with all of the necessary learning resources to ensure your success.
- The second section of the exam is a new 60-minute driving test. In order for you to pass, you must not exceed six minor errors. Before your exam, you must also undergo at least 20 hours of driving training.
- The last section of your training will involve you teaching a student while a DVSA examiner evaluates your teaching abilities. To be completely qualified as a driving instructor, you must complete 40 hours of this course within six months of receiving your PDI licence, plus an extra 20 hours.
