Expand your driving skillset for the world of work

NxtGen Driving Academy is one of East Anglia’s fastest-growing schools for potential commercial vehicle drivers. With a host of qualified commercial driving instructors, our training courses are designed to expand upon your existing knowledge and driving skills to secure the commercial driving licence you need for business purposes.

You might not even be aware that certain classes are not granted on a full driving licence. All of the commercial classes below require additional training courses and workshops in order to be legally approved for work. NxtGen Driving Academy operates commercial driver training courses throughout Suffolk, Norfolk and parts of Essex and Cambridgeshire.

B+E   Trailer Training

The B+E classification covers the towing of a trailer using a car. With this classification you will be able to legally drive a vehicle with a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of 3,500kg, including the trailer. The size of the trailer you can tow depends on the ‘valid from’ date displayed on your licence:

  • Before 19th January 2013, it’s possible to tow any size trailer
  • On or after 19th January 2013, you can tow a trailer with a MAM of up to 3,500kg

For detailed information on our trailer training day courses, including test fees, call us today on 01449 677100.

CPC   Driver Training

It doesn’t matter where you live or work or how long you’ve been a commercial driver, you must undertake at least 35 hours of periodic training to maintain your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). This will legally enable you to continue driving a lorry, coach or bus for work.

It’s important to note that you could be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally without a valid Driver CPC. If you drive both lorries and buses for work, you’ll need to take two separate CPCs to cover both lines of work. At NxtGen, we’re here to engage and guide you towards maintaining your invaluable Driver CPC.
