How Do I Apply for A Driving Instructor Job at NxtGen?
Want to know the next steps? To become a driving instructor, the DVSA requires you to have held a full driving licence for at least three years, and you must be 21 or older. The DVSA will conduct a criminal background check on you, and if you meet the requirements, you can then apply to become a driving instructor at NxtGen.
The processing of your application could take up to six weeks, but worry not, for you are able to embark on our driving instructor training whilst this is seen to. Our training courses are split into the following three parts:
- The first part is a theory test consisting of 100 driving questions, and you must answer a minimum of 85 questions correctly to pass. To support your success, we will provide you with all the necessary learning materials.
- The second part requires a 60-minute practical driving test, and the maximum number of minor mistakes you can make and still pass is six. Additionally, you must complete 20 hours of driving instruction before your exam.
- Your teaching abilities will be evaluated by a DVSA examiner during the final part. Within six months of obtaining your PDI license, you must complete at least 40 hours of the training course, as well as an additional 20 hours to become a qualified driving instructor.
