‘Show me, tell me’ questions: the vehicle safety questions that driving examiners can ask in category B+E (car and trailer) driving tests.
About the questions
You’ll be asked 5 vehicle safety questions. These are also known as the ‘show me, tell me’ questions.
The examiner will ask you ‘show me’ questions, where you’ll have to show them how you’d carry out a vehicle safety check.
You’ll also be asked ‘tell me’ questions, where you’ll have to explain to the examiner how you’d carry out the check.
What’s included in our B+E trailer training courses?
From day one, your chosen NxtGen approved driving instructor (ADI) will discuss the overall requirements of the B+E test and what is expected of you during the practical examination. You’ll then learn how to complete a thorough physical inspection of a vehicle, before being taught the set reversing manoeuvres that form the basis of safely negotiating trailers around our roads.
Your NxtGen instructor will also demonstrate to you how to uncouple and re-couple a trailer to your vehicle safely and efficiently. This will be tested during your practical exam and is an important part of the course. Once you’re confident with the safety of your vehicle and trailer, we’ll then take you out onto everyday roads to help you gain experience to pass your B+E test with flying colours!
