How Do I Apply For A Driving Instructor Job at NxtGen?
As a minimum, you must be 21 years old and have held a full driving licence for at least three years in order to meet the DVSA’s basic criteria. If you meet these requirements, you can request a criminal background check from the DVSA either online or by mail. Once you have obtained your criminal record check, you can begin applying for the position of driving teacher at NxtGen.
During the time it takes for your application to be processed, you can begin your driving teacher training with us. There are three stages to our driving teacher training program including:
- Part 1 is a theoretical test in which you must answer 100 driving questions. At least 85 correct answers are required to pass. You will receive all of the necessary learning materials to ensure success.
- In Part 2, you must pass a new driving test that takes 60 minutes. In order to pass you will be required to have made no more than six minor errors and you must also complete 20 hours of driving instruction before taking your exam.
- Part 3 will require you to educate a student while a DVSA examiner evaluates your teaching abilities. Within six months of getting your PDI license, you must complete at least 40 hours of this component of the course, plus 20 hours more to qualify as a driving instructor.
