Great-value LGV C1+E driver training with NxtGen
If you have ambitions to drive C1-category vehicles weighing up to 7.5 tonnes, with a trailer attached weighing over 750kg, your local NxtGen commercial driving instructor can offer one-to-one C1+E training to help you pass your C1+E practical test. This particular training is aimed at those who have already obtained their C1 licence.
The main advantage of securing your C1+E classification is that you will be able drive any vehicle weighing up to 7.5 tonnes and tow anything from horse boxes and caravans through to speed boats or motorbikes. Those planning to work in the vehicle breakdown and recovery industry will often be required to obtain their C1+E licence too. Our one-to-one C1+E training will be tailored to those with previous towing experience, allowing you to hone your skills in a fun, laid-back training environment.
Requirements to achieve your C1+E licence
If you wish to pass your C1+E driving licence, you’ll need to pass your C1 LGV test first. We can help you with obtaining your C1 licence first, before arranging your subsequent C1+E training. No theory test is necessary to pass your C1+E licence.
The C1+E licence is only available to drivers who are 21 years old and over. If you passed your driving test before January 1997, you will already have acquired rights to the C1+E classification, known as grandfathering rights. There is a restriction code of ‘107’ attached though, which means you cannot tow a combined weight greater than 8,250kg. Passing the C1+E test will enable you to drive a maximum combined weight of 12 tonnes.
