Achieve your C1 licence with NxtGen
If you wish to drive a lorry that weighs between 3,500kg and 7,500kg, your local NxtGen commercial driving instructor can provide one-to-one C1 training to pass your C1 driving test with ease. The C1 licence is also required if you plan to become an ambulance driver, or you plan to tow a horsebox in the near future.
This means that the C1 licence can be beneficial for both work and personal reasons. During our intensive one-to-one C1 training courses, we’ll teach you how to drive a C1 category vehicle safely and equip you with the skills and confidence to perform a wide range of manoeuvres that will be tested during your final C1 exam with the DVSA.
Do you already have the C1 classification on your driving licence?
It’s possible that you might have the C1 category on your driving licence already without knowing it. If you obtained your driving licence prior to January 1997, the C1 classification may be noted on your licence, followed by ‘107’. This restricts you from towing anything with a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of more than 750kg. To tow heavier trailers, you’ll need to pass the C1 and C1+E tests.
If you passed your driving test after January 1997, you won’t have the C1 classification on your driving licence photocard. This means you will need to undertake our C1 training course and book your C1 driving test whenever you are ready.
