Breakdown of Process

Firstly, medicals are conducted for each candidate. Once completed this is submitted to DVSA along with a D2 & D4 form to request the provisional entitlements to be added.

Secondly, once the driving licences return from the DVSA with the CAT C entitlements we go ahead and book the three theory tests required.

  • Multiple Choice
  • Hazard Perception
  • Case Study

We will also give free access to our online learning app. So, learners can easily revise the theory syllabus while awaiting their driving license return.

Thirdly, once theory tests are passed and complete, the candidate will be put onto the 20 hour course which includes practical tests.

What you need to achieve your LGV C Class 2 licence

First and foremost, you’ll need a full car driving licence. You’ll then need to arrange a medical with your local doctor for a basic examination. This is because driving a large vehicle can be physically and mentally intense, requiring you to be fit and healthy at the wheel at all times.

You’ll then need to book and pass your LGV C Class 2 theory test. Your instructor can provide plenty of theoretical support for this ahead of your test. You’ll then begin practical training and pass your practical test to achieve provisional LGV C Class 2 entitlement; giving you the chance to work as a short-haul and long-distance lorry driver.
