Understanding the Training Process for Driving Instructors at NxtGen
The training program at NxtGen ADI consists of three distinct stages:
- Theory Stage: Trainees are required to correctly answer 85 out of 100 driving theory questions to progress to the next stage. All necessary training materials and theory books are provided.
- Practical Stage: Trainees must retake and pass their driving test with no more than six minor faults. This practical test lasts for 60 minutes. A minimum of 20 hours of driving tuition is required before taking the test to ensure top-notch driving skills.
- Teaching Stage: To begin teaching driving lessons to learner drivers, trainees must complete at least 40 hours of Part 3 training to obtain their PDI Driver Training Licence, which is valid for 6 months. After obtaining the PDI, an additional 20 hours of driving tuition is required before taking the Part 3 exam. This method allows trainees to earn income while they learn. The Part 3 exam lasts for 60 minutes, and trainees must bring a student along so that the DVSA Examiner can assess their teaching skills.
